February Update

The AGM for Kinross Camera Club will be held on Thursday 1st February at 7.30pm via Zoom. The second half of the evening sees a less formal section where we can sit back and enjoy Members Pictures.  All our members are encouraged to have a look through the photos they have taken over the last couple of months and choose two of their favourite shots to submit. We then all enjoy a slideshow of these images and many of our more experienced members are always happy to offer positive advice and tips on how the image can be improved. This is a popular evening and sometimes these images go on to be entered into club competitions.

This month it is KCC’s turn to host the annual 3-Way competition with St Andrews Photographic Society and Cupar Camera Club. This meeting will be held in the hall. This is always an enjoyable evening where each club submits 15 Projected Digital Images for an external judge to critique and score. It is a friendly competition which gives us a chance to see the work of other local clubs. Great sportsmanship of course but each club always having its eye on the trophy.

We have a zoom presentation by Jonathan Genevaux on Thursday 15th February.  Jonathan specialises in Waterscape photography. He grew up on the West coast of France and then developed his skills as a portrait photographer in the French Alps. He then became a sports Photographer in Bristol where he still works as a professional photographer. His love of waterscape photography inspired him to travel around the UK giving talks and holding workshops. His work is fantastic and we look forward to seeing his zoom presentation.

Later in February we look forward to a Zoom presentation by JP Stones who will share with us his stunning and inspirational images of The Mexican Charro and discuss the unexpected rewards of completing a long term photography project.

We will be holding another Practical Evening at the end of February. This meeting will be in the hall and we will be exploring macro and close up photography. It provides a hands on opportunity to have a go at macro photography in a relaxed environment with plenty of advice available from some of our members who are macro enthusiasts.
