January Update

Our New Year begins with a zoom talk by professional photographer and tutor Daniel Bridge. Daniel will present a photography talk on water in its many varied forms, from the liquid stuff at the seaside and in rivers, to clouds, rain and rainbows, fog, ice and more. He will also show shots of wildlife associated with water, so something for everyone.

Also this month we have our League 2 competition where we welcome judge Stewart Dodd to critique our images.

Later in the month Jerry Webb will be joining us for a zoom meeting to present his talk ‘Breaking the Rules in Mono Photography’. Jerry is a British self taught photographer and designer. He says he is often at odds with conventional perceptions, interpreting what he sees using his own individual methods and distinctive style. His photographs include people, portrait, event, street and project photography and he has been published many times. He has had exhibitions in London and Sussex where he now lives and works. A zoom presentation not to miss if you like alternative approaches to photography.

We conclude January with our highly entertaining Digital Knockout event which will be held in the Kinross Church Centre. Members are invited to submit digital photographs on any theme they choose. The photographs are displayed in two’s on projector screens and the audience is asked to vote for their preferred image. This continues until we are left with only two images from which a winner is chosen. This is always an enjoyable evening all taken in good humour and one not to be missed.

Throughout the season we hold a mixture of Zoom meetings where you can enjoy presentations in the comfort of your home and we also arrange in hall meetings held at The Church Centre in Kinross. Please see our syllabus on the website for details.

Whether you are a beginner or have years of experience with your camera you will be made very welcome. There is no need for lots of expensive kit just an interest in photography and meeting up with likeminded folk. Why not come along and see if its for you?
