Kinross Camera Club begins February with our Annual General Meeting. This will be held via Zoom this year to ensure all of our members can attend and no one is excluded if unable to attend an in person meeting. We will also hold our Four-On-A-Board competition during the second half of this meeting. The Four-On-A-Board competition is a very informal competition judged by members. Everyone is invited to enter a set of four digital images on any theme which are linked in some aspect and are displayed as a set of four. Always an entertaining competition which can showcase some very interesting and often unusual topics.
On the 9th February the annual Inter-Club 3-Way competition will be hosted by Cupar Camera Club. This is a great evening where three local camera clubs (Kinross, Cupar and St Andrews) go head to head show casing a selection of their best Projected digital Images for an external judge to critique and score. A very friendly and enjoyable get together which gives us a chance to see the work of our neighbouring clubs. Always with great sportsmanship – who will win the trophy this year?
The following week we will be meeting in the Kinross Church Centre to enjoy an evening of 10-Minute Talks. This is an event we have not been able to run in recent years due to the lockdown problems. However, it is back and we are looking forward to a few of our members entertaining us with short 10 minute talks on any photography related topic. Our President then has the unenviable task of choosing a favourite which is rewarded by a shiny trophy at the end of year prize giving dinner.
Later in the month Ron Bell, a Scottish based Landscape Photographer, will be joining us to present his talk ‘Ron’s Scary Munro’s’. This meeting will be held in the Kinross Church Hall. It will be great to enjoy a presentation in person on this occasion. We are looking forward to seeing Ron’s wonderful Scottish landscapes.
Finally some very exciting news to share – Kinross Camera Club will be holding an Exhibition of Members Photographs. This will be held in The Loch Leven Community Campus Library, 1st – 14th April 2023.
