Our November schedule gets off to a great start with a Zoom presentation called ‘Creative Flower Photography’ by enthusiastic and passionate flower photographer Cherry Larcombe. Cherry is from Eastbourne and exhibits her work both nationally and internationally. Cherry promises to bring creative ideas to showcase the shape and beauty of flowers both outdoors and indoors to produce unique floral art. Many of our members have an interest in flower photography and I am sure will find Cherry’s work inspiring.
November also sees our first League Competition of the season. League 1 will be judged by Douglas Allan and will take place in the main hall in Kinross Church Centre.
We look forward to our second Zoom evening this month called ‘Photo Art – Creative Digital Photography’ by Stan Farrow. Stan is a creative digital art photographer based near St Andrews. He is a member of The Royal Photographic Society and has been awarded a Fellowship (FRPS). He enjoys applying his interest in modern art to his photography. He also greatly enjoys using Photoshop creatively to make new digital art, especially still-life work with layers and texture.
One not to be missed is the upcoming evening of astro photography ‘Scotland’s Night Sky’ by local astronomer Andrew Allan from Perthshire. Andrew is self taught and his main goal is to encourage us to look up at the night sky and enjoy the wonders of the universe. Andrew travels to the Arctic each year to photograph the Northern Lights in Iceland and Norway. Andrew will present his talk in person in the Kinross Church Centre and talk us through the techniques and camera settings required to capture images which will be ‘ out of this world ‘
Kinross Camera Club is a small and very friendly group. We welcome everyone who has an interest in photography. You don’t need a big fancy camera with lots of gear and you don’t need lots of experience. Iff you enjoy taking photographs and would like to learn a little more about photography in the company of like minded local folk please get in touch and join us for an evening to see if it’s for you.
