KCC is still operating during lockdown! Whilst our 2019-2020 Syllabus has now ended and we are unable to run our usual summer programme of Thursday evening photography sessions we are still functioning. Throughout the summer we are running a regular ‘Picture a Week’ activity in which members submit one or two photos (recent or from their archive) which are then shared with the Club. On Thursday evenings we are holding Virtual Club Night using the video conferencing software Zoom. At these Virtual Club Nights we discuss the Picture a Week entries, sometime have members give a little talk or demonstration on a photography topic, and occasionally have external speakers. These Zoom calls are proving very popular with our members and are a great way to stay engage with your photography, share knowledge and keep in touch with friends.
At present (late May) it is still too early to confirm exactly how we will run the 2020-2021 Syllabus but we hope to be back in our regular venue soon. We are also considering starting the season with online meetings.
If you are interested in and enjoy photography Kinross Camera Club may be for you!
The club was founded in 1985 and caters for adults of all abilities, attracting members from Kinross-shire, Fife and beyond.
We are a very friendly and sociable club and look forward to welcoming new members throughout the year. You don’t have to be a budding David Bailey (our past President started out with a tiny pink digi camera) – we are just a group of people who like taking photos and socialising…
If you visit our Syllabus page you will find previous copies of the Syllabus from recent years. We like to include a broad mix of excellent speakers, instructional talks, entertaining club nights and helpful practical sessions.
Our regular Club Nights take place on Thursdays at 7.30pm from September till April in the main hall of the Kinross Church Centre, 64 High Street, Kinross, KY13 8AJ with the exception of the first Thursday of each month when we meet in the back room of the Church Centre, with access from the side door off Piper Row. Occasionally we use alternative venues but these will be communicated at prior Club Nights, by email to all members and on the news page of this website.
We also have a Digital Group which meets in the Crook Inn, Crook of Devon on the last Tuesday of every month – see the Digital Group page for details.
